Paris 1913: Igor Stravinsky's shatteringly new ballet The Rite of Spring is premiered. Coco Chanel, radically redesigning the way women look, is deeply stirred by the performance. The 20th century has properly begun. Paris 1920: Coco is introduced to Igor by Diaghilev. The attraction is instant and electric. Along with Stravinsky's family they repair to Coco's new villa in Garches. Adapted by Chris Greenhaulgh from his own novel, with striking cinematography and marvellous design (of course), the film examines the relationship between individuality and creativity by focusing on two of the prime movers of the avant garde.
