Tales From the Golden Age

This portmanteau production of five films takes an ironic and farcical snapshot of the final 15 years of the Ceasucescu regime, when life was anything but golden, with rampant political corruption in the twilight years of Communism. Whether it’s a chicken-selling con-man, glass-bottle scammers or a corrupt political photographer, all Romanian life, in its pre-fall of the wall absurdity, is rendered with the blackest, bleakest and most surreal humour.
